Denver live music
Fillmore Auditorium is one of Denver's finest venues and plays host to world-class bands. It attracts acts that don't need a full-scale arena but will pull in large numbers - it can take 3,600 music fans. It's at 1510 Clarkson St.

El Chapultepec has been hosting jazz and blues since 1951, including the likes of Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. It's small and usually crowded, but the city's best venue for live blues and jazz. The burritos have quite a local reputation. It's at 1962 Market Street - call 303-295-9126.
Grizzly Rose is for country music fans. It's in North Denver and has won the "Best Country Music Club" award. Willie Nelson and LeAnn Rimes have played here. There's pool tables and a mechanical bull. They offer free dance lessons too. It's at 5450 N Valley Hwy. Call 303-295-2353.

Denver performing arts

Denver Red Rocks
Whenever you are in the Denver area, check if there are any great acts booked at Red Rocks. This is one of the great outdoor venues of the world. It's been played by some of the world's top performers.
Denver Paramount Theater
The Paramount opened as a movie theater in 1931 at Glenarm Place. The venue now plays host to numerous concert and performance acts. The theatre was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, and the city of Denver recognized it as a historic landmark in 1988.
The Paramount has one of the two remaining twin-console Wurlitzer theater organs in the US - the other one is located at Radio City Music Hall in New York. It features 1,600 pipes.
Denver comedy

Denver sport
Denver is a major league city when it comes to sport so try and take in a game of football, baseball, basketball, ice hockey or soccer. The Denver Broncos are at the stunning Invesco Stadium at Mile High; The Colorado Rockies baseball team play at Coors Field while basketball and ice hockey is at the Pepsi Center.
The Rockies brought major league baseball to the city and sparked off new development in the Lower Downtown area known as 'LoDo'. Restaurants, shops, and many new brewpubs followed.
The Avalanche ice hockey team moved to Denver from Quebec in 1995, winning the championship in their first year.
